In addition, CDI, along with the Medical College
of Wisconsin, have received a $6.3 million grant
from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute
(
NHLBI) for a five-year study that “will allow us to
look at a group of 250 patients with
a particular type of heart disease,
Left Ventricular Hypertrophy, and
investigate the mechanism underlying
its genetic background that leads to
heart failure,” says Palay.
