RESEARCH AND THE ENVIRONMEN
Labtest has a team of over 170 employees, of which
about eight percent are devoted exclusively to
research and development. “We invest between six to
eight percent of our revenues in R & D. We want to
have internalized technology of most of the products
we offer,” says Dr. Lustosa.
Labtest was one of the companies selected for
the BH-TEC, a technology park in Belo Horizonte,
which opened earlier this year. It will house research
and development activities aimed at accelerating
technological innovation for businesses in the
region. “The site will provide a greater exchange
between business and reach out to other laboratories
such as Fiocruz, for example. We will have the
possibility of a greater exchange of knowledge with
other researchers. The environment is conducive
to the exchange of information and possibility of
co-development,” said Dr. Lustosa.
