HE NATIONAL CHAMBER OF
PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY
(
CANIFARMA) is by law, the representative
body of the Mexico-based pharmaceutical
industry, industry formed by manufacturers of
medicinal products for human and veterinary use, as
well as medical devices.
Currently CANIFARMA joined 186 companies
which together represent more than 80 per cent of
inputs for health products consumed in Mexico in
both the public and private markets.
The manufacturing of medicinal products for
human and veterinary use has great significance for
the Mexican economy, because according to the latest
official economic census, INEGI 2009, this sector is
the fourth most important manufacturing activity of
the country.
Since it was founded in 1946 as the National
Chamber of pharmaceutical chemical laboratories,
CANIFARMA has been complying with the
