remembers Derek. “He got lots of enquiries about
filling bottles- so he took on a chemist and started
manufacturing the bulk liquids to go inside the
bottles. Both sides really took off, but he saw more
opportunities in the cosmetic side so around 18-19
years ago he closed the bottle manufacturing side
down and Herrco Cosmetics was born.”
Having studied Sports Science at University, Derek
did not plan to join the company initially, but later
found he had ‘flair’ for cosmetic development. After
completing a degree in Cosmetic Chemistry, he joined
the company six years ago, and it has grown at an
astonishing rate ever since.
In addition to increased production, Herrmann
also plans for an ambitious research and development
facility, which would include a working spa to
demonstrate products to the designer.
